What other industry has convinced us that a product that kills or maims someone in the world every 6 seconds and contributes to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity is not only an unadulterated good but essential to our identity as Americans?

This is my place to deconstruct the car narrative, the suburb narrative, and consider how that definition of “success” obscures our ability to make healthier choices for ourselves, our communities, and our resources.
